Frequently asked questions

What price are your lodges?

Our prices vary according to model and plot position but start at around £95,000.

We offer lodges by Swift, Willerby, ABI and Atlas and can accommodate lodges up to 42’ long and 14’ wide.

As long as it’s available in the wood look finish (Sierra Canexel) we can get a price for you so if there’s a particular model you like do let us know.

What facilities are available on the park?

The joy of Franchis and what makes it special is that it’s a quiet, rural park where you can really get away from it all. Wildlife abounds and, with minimal park lighting, our night skies are fabulous. We just have a small launderette, a little library and lots of leaflets for you to plan days out.

What are the annual costs after purchasing my holiday home?

The annual pitch fee is £2760 (inc any relevant taxes), gas (bottled) and electricity (metered) are billed quarterly as used and insurance is through your own choice of provider. We’re lucky enough to have our own private water supply here so that’s just £150 (inc VAT) per year.

How long can my holiday lodge stay at Franchis?

We offer a standard Licence Agreement of 25 years this can be extended up to a maximum of 30 years for an additional cost at the time of purchase.

When can I use my holiday home?

You can enjoy holidays here any time you like within 11 months of the year, with February being the only month the park completely closes.

What models are available?

We offer a large range of models by Swift, Willerby, ABI, Atlas and Victory. As long as it's available in the wood look exterior then simply contact us for a price.

How quickly can we 'move in'?

It usually takes about 12 to 14 weeks for a new lodge to arrive but it does vary according to which model you like so just let us know and we can provide you with more detail.

Can I live in my holiday home?

No, this is not possible. Franchis is a holiday park, not a residential park. Your main residence must be away from the park and we will need you to provide proof of this address with documentation such as a. recent utility bill, current council tax bill, and driving licence or similar. We reserve the right to request up to date copies of these documents on an annual basis.

Can I sub-let my holiday home?

We do not allow commercial subletting, although family are welcome to stay at your holiday home.

What rights and obligations are there?

We’re members of NHHPA and the BH&HPA (a trade association which ensures we reach a high standard) so all our holiday home owners have a formal, written Licence Agreement as recommended by them. The Licence Agreement sets out the obligations of both the holiday home owner and the park owner and includes the park rules. Please ask for a sample copy if you would like more details.

Will I need insurance?

Yes. All owners must be adequately covered by a suitable insurance policy that meets our criteria. You are free to choose your own insurance provider but will need to make a copy of the policy document available to us.

I'm interested so what do I do now?

We recommend that you come and have a look round the park before making any further plans, maybe talk to some other owners here and see if Franchis is the place for you. We currently have just 6 plots left so you could also decide which of these you'd like your lodge sited on. Just give us a call or email to arrange a visit.

All of the manufacturers have websites where you can view the models available (see links below). Its a good idea to have a look at these and make a note of those which you like. We can then advise you of price, availability and, depending on where you live, where's best to view them.

We hope that we've covered everything but do please feel free to get in touch if there's anything else you'd like to ask
